The Gender 360 Summit 2018 explored the intersections of education, health, economic empowerment and gender-based violence among girls, boys, and youth with diverse gender identities. We considered these issues in the context of Positive Girl and Boy Development. Positive Girl Development recognizes the intertwined vulnerabilities that girls and young women face, and their strengths, needs and opportunities at different life stages. Positive Boy Development emphasizes the unique strengths, needs, and challenges of boys and young men.
The Summit highlighted innovative approaches and produced action-oriented recommendations on how positive girl and boy development – across gender identity, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, and disability –can strengthen development outcomes.
